Life of a Wannabe Baller.

Growing up in Adelaide, many will know that our poker community is full of phenomenal young guns. The likes of Jarred Graham, James Obst and Jono Karamalikis are who I and many upcoming players aspire to emulate. Their lifestyle, their presence and notoriety in the poker world, and the money and titles they have won is something I look up to. This is my journey into that world.

Before I begin, anyone remember the movie old school? Vince vaughn has this cool thing going with his kid whenever he says "earmuffs" the kid blocks his ears and Vince then can swear and talk about anything he wants. Now it's my turn, kids earmuffs!

At 16 I had acquired my mums credit card and deposited online . It was during the moneymaker craze and I really enjoyed playing, I think moreso because it wasn't my money. I kept losing then depositing, it was just a cycle until I was over 3k in the hole. Obviously shitting bricks and thinking things would turn around , I load up an $11 tourney and sure enough they did and i managed to win it for just under 10k. I wish I hadn't. Thinking I was gods gift, I quickly loaded up 100/200 and ran KK into AA early and lost a 14k pot. I went to bed with mixed emotions but it was that night where my hunger and drive to learn the game began.

Over the next few years, I have gone from playing full time to being a social lagtard with a few good binks here and there. It's been pretty tough but my passion for the game has  never waivered and I look forward to sharing my successes with you over the next few months, when I look to increase my volume and start taking the game seriously and crushing like the online guns do. With the help of the mistress, hopefully I'll get some run good and feel motivated enough to update this blog and start living like Krantz and get my own personal assistant and chef, Mbn!
